Update: Exciting news. On Monday, May 19th, I start my new position as a contractor working for AT&T!!
I will be working at one of the largest companies in Concord, NC. So, no dreaded commute to Charlotte
as I had feared. W00T!!!
Well, I'm finding myself looking for a new job for the first time since 1997!
I'm not very good at promoting myself... I've always let the quality of my work speak for me.
In fact, I had gotten to the point where I thought I was indispensable. We were a small group
of three, trying to add a fourth, and had re-built a kickin' core data network for the company!
We designed, built, maintained, and really knew the ins and outs of the network. We were Kings!
The Windstream buyout proved me wrong. They said they wanted to keep everyone in our group,
and were even willing to give us significant raises,... But we had to move to Little Rock, AR
where ALL the other data Engineers were located. Re-locating my family away from our parents,
grandparents and friends was not something I (nor any of my peers) was willing to do. So, here
I am, committed, resourceful, talented... looking for a local company who needs someone like me...
